RICHFEST Diversity Seminar
Celebrate Richfield’s diversity!  Listen to speakers, panel discussions, and presentations.  The event is presented by the Richfield Human Rights Commission.

Annual Ice Skating Show
Usually the third Saturday in April at the Richfield Ice Arena, 636 East 66th Street
This annual event features Richfield Skating School participants and guest skaters.

Adopt-a-Park Clean Up
Richfield’s Adopt-A-Park groups clean up their respective parks at least twice a year. One of those clean ups is usually the week of Earth Day (in late April). The other clean ups are done at the groups’ convenience.  Any group or business can adopt a park!

Farmer's Market
May through October, Saturdays, 7 a.m. until noon

City-Wide Garage Sale
Held on a Thursday through Saturday, typically the third week in May in homes throughout Richfield.  Register your sale, which includes a yard sign, group advertising in metro-wide publications, radio announcements and a copy of the garage sale list.  Shoppers may purchase the garage sale list for $2 at the Community Center, 7000 Nicollet Avenue or City Hall, 6700 Portland Avenue

1919 Root Beer Kegs
Every spring, Richfield Liquor Stores sell 1919 Root Beer kegs.  Perfect for graduations and other parties. 
Don't forget the ice cream -- root beer floats make an easy dessert for those large groups.

Richfield Beautiful Home and Garden Tour
Held late in June, Richfield Beautiful is a tour of homes and gardens throughout the City. The event provides individuals an opportunity to visit with homeowners participating in the tour and receive some decoration and landscape ideas.  Tour "passports" (required to visit the participating homes) are sold at various City sites.

Police & Fire Safety Day for 4th Graders
First week of June
One fun-filled summer day.  Richfield children learn personal safety, bike safety, money safety, water safety, animal awareness, fire and burn prevention, and more.

This family events runs for five days and includes a carnival, old fashioned games & a pie eating contest, street dance, special music events, food & beverage concessions as well as the Grand Parade and Fireworks Display on the Fourth.

National Night Out
First Tuesday in August
Neighborhood Crime Watch is a group of neighbors who have agreed to watch out for each other.  Most blocks participate annually in the National Night Out Against Crime.

Annual Urban Wildland Half Marathon & 5K Race
First Saturday in August
Race starts and finishes at Veterans Park (66th and Portland)
Information:  This event draws more than 1,200 participants and is a fundraiser for Wood Lake Nature Center.

Citizen's Police Academy
Beginning at the end of September, this free, 15-hour, 5-week course (Thursday evenings, 7-10 p.m.) is designed to
give residents a working knowledge of the operations and responsibilities of the Richfield Police. It is also a great opportunity to meet Richfield’s police officers.  Applications accepted from any person who is at least 18 years old and either lives or works in Richfield.

Cattail Days

Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Richfield in conjunction with Richfield Liquors and the Richfield Historical Society to help support service projects in the community. Fire Prevention Week Open House
Richfield Fire Services hosts an Open House every year as part of National Fire Prevention Week.  The Open House is usually held on a Saturday in early October.  Visit Station #1, meet with firefighters, and check out the department's equipment.

Candlelight & Ice New Year's Eve Event
New Year's Eve, 7-9 p.m.
Follow hundreds of candles that along trails that wind their way through the cattail islands and forests of Wood Lake.  Enjoy the quiet of the marsh at night while hiking past hooting owls and sleeping deer.  After the walk, come back to the building and warm up near a toasty fire while enjoying roasted marshmallows and hot cocoa
