CANDIDATE FILING INFORMATION
FOR CITY OFFICES

A candidate for municipal elective office must be a registered voter who is, or will be when assuming office, 21 years of age or more.  All candidates shall be nominated by petition signed by at least ten registered voters. Packets for candidate filing are available through the City Clerk’s Office – packets can be mailed or picked up at City Hall during an election year.  Filing must take place in person with the City Clerk at 6700 Portland Avenue, Richfield City Hall.

CITY OFFICES TO BE ELECTED IN 2012

The following City of Richfield offices will be up for election in the fall of 2012:

Council Member Ward 1,  2 and 3            4 year terms (Commencing on
first regular or special meeting in January 2013; ending first regular or special meeting in January 2016)

     NOMINATION BY PETITION

 All candidates for municipal elective office shall be nominated by petition.

 Nominating petitions must contain the signatures of 10 individuals who are registered voters in Richfield.

 Nominating petitions must be filed during the filing period with the City Clerk at Richfield City Hall, 6700 Portland Avenue.

 A $25.00 filing fee is due at the time of filing the nominating petition.
