Project Components
Lakes at Lyndale is the Richfield response to Downtown Redevelopment and MnDOT's plan to rebuild the I-35W and Crosstown Highway 62 Commons. The natural amenities of Wood Lake and Richfield Lake are being connected with the adjacent downtown commercial, retail, and multi-unit housing Lakes at Lyndale Master Plan (View Master Plan Map). The planning concepts developed during a 23 month community planning process from 1997 to 1999 provide opportunities for the following to occur:
- Increase the variety and availability of new housing
- New retail, restaurants, entertainment and offices
- Improved gateways
- Preservation and enhancement of nature
The Lakes at Lyndale area will be developed in phases through the year 2010. Two development blocks were completed in 2000: the Gramercy Park Senior Co-Op and the Woodlake Centre office/retail area, "The Oaks" townhomes and apartments and "The Pines" assisted living. In 2003, City Bella began construction in the southwest quadrant of 66th Street and Lyndale Avenue.
City Bella was completed in 2004.
