What You Must Know if You are a Landlord or
Rent in Richfield
Community Apartment Program (CAP) is a joint effort of the City of Richfield Housing and Redevelopment Authority, apartment managers, owners, residents, and other community members. This program benefits both the landlords and the tenants because it makes the community safer and offers alternatives for youth.
As a
tenant or landlord, you can be part of any of the following CAP initiatives:
- Sign up for Crime Free Multi-Housing training to ensure safe and crime-free apartments. This program provides training for managers and residents on security issues, and provides building security assessments by Richfield Public Safety. For more information call Public Safety Crime Prevention Unit, (612) 861-9800.
As a landlord, you can take advantage of the following services:
- Join the Richfield Apartment Owners and Managers Association (RAMA)!
This is a group that meets to discuss issues such as changes in State laws on
apartments, policies for evaluating potential residents, and ideas to revitalize
buildings. The Association provides an opportunity for all owners and managers
to share expertise and work on issues together. For more information call
Lynnette Chambers at (612) 861-9773.
- Take advantage of the Richfield Rediscovered Apartment Remodeling Program. This program offers the technical assistance of the Richfield Remodeling Advisor Dave Schaffer and property tax break benefits for value-added improvements to apartment rental units. Call the Remodeling Connection at (612) 861-9772, and leave a message for Dave.
