On June 10, the Richfield Police and Fire Departments are sponsoring Richfield Police and Fire Safety Day for 60 children entering fourth grade, a fun day, full of life-safety information! Safety Day takes place at the Elliot Community Education Center (7001 Elliot Ave So) from 8:45 am until 4:30 pm. A graduation and pizza party for the children and their parents will take place immediately following Safety Day in the Richfield Intermediate School gym until approximately 5:45 pm.

While being mentored by police officers and fire fighters, participants will learn fire, bike, electrical, basic first aid, and dog safety as well as personal safety.

Every participant will receive a medallion, duffel bag and a chance to win a bicycle. The $22 registration fee also includes lunch, snacks, a Safety Day

T-shirt, and a pizza dinner for the participant and one parent (dinner tickets for additional family members may be purchased for $4/each).

Parents may register their child by calling 612-861-9845. Space is limited, so register early. Payment may be made by cash or check (in person or by mail) or credit card (by phone). Registration deadline is June 3. Scholarships are available for qualified kids; contact Jill Mecklenburg at 612-861-9845.
