Police & Fire Safety Day
Every summer,
typically in mid-June the Richfield Police and Fire Departments sponsor
a "Safety Day" for up to 60 children entering fourth grade. This
is a fun day full of life-safety information!
National Night Out
Neighborhood Crime Watch groups are asked to spend the
evening outside with their neighbors. Police Officers, Firefighters and City
Council Members make an attempt to appear at registered neighborhood block
parties. Typically first Tuesday in August.
Citizens Police Academy
The Citizen Police Academy is an 15-hour,
5-week course designed to give Richfield citizens a working knowledge of the
operations and responsibilities of the Richfield Police. September -
October.Special Olympic Fundraisers &
Events
Tip-A-Cop
Richfield Police Officers will be raising funds to support Special Olympic
participants. Typically held at a sit-down restaurant in Richfield in
April prior to the summer Olympics.
Cop-On-Top
A Richfield Police Officer will sit on top of the Richfield Rainbow Foods
Store in June to raise money for Special Olympics Minnesota.
Torch Run
Richfield Police and Staff participate with other agencies across the state in
the annual Special Olympics Torch Run.
