Animal Licensing

Animal licensing questions can be answered by calling 612-861-9870. For other animal-related questions, call 612-861-9823.

  • All animals 6 months of age and older must be licensed.
  • If a resident wants three cats or three dogs, they must obtain a separate multi-pet residence license application through the City.
  • The maximum number of animals residents may have is five total.
  • It is illegal to have more than three dogs on one property.

Impounded Animals

Most animals impounded by Richfield Public Safety will be sheltered at the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter, unless special care is required.

Lost and found animal reports may be made at any time, 24 hours a day by calling Richfield Public Safety at 612-861-9898.
