Project Description:
The
Minnesota Department of Transportation’s (Mn/DOT) Crosstown
Reconstruction Project is triggering the reconstruction of Lyndale
Avenue from I-35W/62 south to 64th Street. The project involves
reconstruction of Lyndale Avenue from curb to curb with replacement of
adjacent sidewalk from Mn/DOT project limits north of 63rd
Street traveling south to 64th Street in conjunction with
placing a trunk storm sewer line in the Lyndale corridor that outlets
westerly through the Lyndale Garden Center to Richfield Lake.
Construction Staging
and Detour:

Improvements on
Lyndale Avenue are scheduled to start in August of 2008 and should be
completed in less than three months.
Lyndale Avenue will be closed to through traffic during construction.
As for the
proposed detour route, north and south traffic will be redirected to
Nicollet Avenue via 65th Street on the south side and 61st Street on the
north side.
Access for businesses and residents along Lyndale Avenue will be
maintained during construction.
