Fire Prevention - Inspection of commercial and multi-family residential properties

A new fire code was adopted by the State which required all fire officers to attend additional training. The new code was adopted by city ordinance during 2003.

All fire inspections are tracked in updated fire management software. Our goal is to inspect all commercial and multi-family residential properties semi-annually.

Occupancies considered high-risk or occupancies storing or utilizing specialized materials will be inspected annually.

Fire Safety Presentations

Again this year we saw an increase in the request for fire safety presentations. We work hard to accommodate as many as we can within our budget constraints.

Richfield Fire Services typically hosts an Open House in early October as part of Fire Prevention Week.
