TRANSPORTATION DIVISION

With four freeways and four County roads all running through and around the heart of the community, Richfield is in a unique position for a city of its size.  Maintaining a safe, multi-modal transportation system is critical for the well-being of Richfield residents and businesses.  This is completed in a variety of ways:

• Installing and maintaining adequate traffic control
• Consideration of all modes through bicycle and pedestrian planning
• Innovative street design such as roundabouts and 4-to-3 lane conversion
• Regional planning and coordination with other agencies such as MN/DOT and Hennepin County
• Involvement by residents and business owners through the Transportation Commission
• Implementation of the Complete Streets Policy
