About:

The Richfield Advisory Board of Health established an annual Food Safety Awards program in 2007 to acknowledge excellence in food safety and service.  The Board hopes the positive recognition will encourage all Richfield establishments to strive for the same outcome.

The health inspector nominates 3 to 4 candidates in three categories (full service restaurant, limited service food service, and fast food) based on:  Food collaborative interviews and inspection results.

2007 Restaurant Awards:

During City Council Meeting on April 8, 2008 the Advisory Board of Health presented the first annual Richfield Food Safety Awards.  Though presented in 2008, the awards are for the prior year.

Nominations:  Broadway Pizza, VFW Club, Khans Mongolian BBQ

Limited Service Category

Winner:  Border's Cafe

Fast Food Category

Nominations:  Burger King (78th and Nicollet)

Winner:  Taco Bell
